About the role

Senior, client-facing engineer for federal government customers, building and productionizing data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform with a hybrid travel model and security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design decisions for production-grade systems and reference architectures
  • Design, build, and deploy data ingestion pipelines and ML/AI model integrations
  • Guide strategic customers through end-to-end big data projects from design to deployment
  • Embed with customer teams and provide training, support, and hands-on delivery
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Databricks best practices
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and customer teams to deliver technical components
  • Provide product and implementation feedback to engineering and support teams
  • Contribute accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts
  • Travel to customer locations 20-25% as part of hybrid role

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering
  • Fluency in writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks
  • Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one
  • Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments
  • Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs
  • Design and deployment of performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications that combine data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces
  • Experience with technical project delivery, documentation and white-boarding
  • Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across a broad stakeholder range
  • Preferred: 7+ years experience, Expertise in MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs
  • Preferred: Databricks Certification
  • Note: U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government secret clearance required; candidates with active Secret or higher clearance encouraged to apply
