About the role

Staff Accountant at Snap Inc. in Los Angeles. Responsible for analyzing accounting treatment, recording and reporting transactions, and optimizing processes to ensure accurate US GAAP reporting and timely close, with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for areas, as assigned
  • Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Prepare various reconciliations and analysis of account activity
  • Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX
  • Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, quarterly reviews, as well as periodic internal audits
  • Improve and document general processes for assigned areas
  • Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience
  • 1+ years of experience as an accounting professional
  • Preferred: CPA License, or in progress
  • Preferred: Big 4 firm experience
  • Preferred: Fortune 500 and/or private company experience
  • Preferred: Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, etc.)
