Deployment Engineer role at Ultra in NYC, focusing on taking sites from empty floors to production-ready robot deployments, traveling to customer sites, training customers, and feeding field insights back to product and teams.

Responsibilities

  • - Travel to customer sites to install, upgrade, and troubleshoot robots in the field.
  • - Train and support customers’ employees to maximize robot usage.
  • - Use field knowledge to bring customer voice to product, software, and ML teams.
  • - At HQ, assist in building and testing robots through design, component selection, assembly, and testing before deployment.
  • - Provide outstanding remote customer service via Slack, text, or phone; monitor robot performance and triage issues proactively.

Qualifications

  • - Strong foundation in engineering with ability to work closely with customers.
  • - Extreme sense of urgency, quick and proactive problem-solving.
  • - Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 3-4 weeks/month during deployments.
  • - Aptitude for understanding mechanical and electrical systems and assembling without manuals.
  • - Ability to build strong customer relationships and manage expectations.
  • - Thrive in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment.
