Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team to meet business needs.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire associates to exceed performance expectations and uphold a positive team culture.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and create development plans to support growth.
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and loyalty.
  • Maintain expertise on products, participate in training, and seek additional resources.
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and address customer concerns promptly.
  • Develop and implement strategies to exceed sales and financial goals across retail operations.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics daily to optimize store performance.
  • Deliver classes and customer experiences that drive engagement and sales, with KPIs including second-class sign-ups, product sales, individual sales, AOV, conversion, and Google reviews.
  • Oversee daily store operations, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, minimize shrink, and ensure proper merchandising.
  • Ensure store safety and cleanliness; address maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of employee records (time/attendance, certifications, personal info).
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws and SLT time-recording policies.
  • Model and enforce SLT policies and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
  • 3+ years of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and motivating high-performing teams while meeting operational goals.
  • Strong leadership with ability to inspire, develop, retain a top-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for community engagement and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.
