About the role

Elastic Consulting Architect role focused on delivering and leading stakeholder engagement with Government at high levels, aligning Elastic to strategic objectives, and delivering Elastic solutions in public sector environments. Role requires security clearance and involves design, delivery, and strategic advisory across customers, with travel and onsite work.

Responsibilities

  • Strong customer advocacy, relationship building, and communications skills
  • Ability to pivot from delivery to strategic engagements with customers
  • Work with Elastic to support customer goals and journey
  • Own strategic roadmap with the customer including quarterly strategic sessions with senior stakeholders
  • Solution design, development, and integration of Elastic products and APIs, platform architecture, and capacity planning in mission-critical environments
  • Comfortable working remotely in a highly distributed team
  • Development of demos and proof-of-concepts highlighting Elastic Stack value
  • Data modelling, query development and optimisation, cluster tuning and scaling for fast search and analytics at scale
  • Solving customers’ most challenging data problems
  • Collaborate with Elastic engineering, product management, and support to identify feature enhancements
  • Engage with Elastic Sales to scope opportunities while assessing technical risks or concerns

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience and understanding of Elasticsearch and/or Lucene
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Software Engineer, System Administrator, or DevOps Engineer
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Consultant delivering professional services engagements
  • Currently holding current UK security clearance, or has previously held security clearance, or willing to undergo security clearance
  • Experience as a technical instructor or public speaker to large audiences on enterprise infrastructure software to engineers and developers
  • Ability to gather, prioritise, plan and execute solutions with customers related to our technologies
  • Understanding and passion for open-source technology; proficient in at least one programming language
  • Hands-on experience with large distributed systems from an architecture/development perspective
  • Knowledge of information retrieval and/or analytics domain
  • High onsite work percentage with travel expectations
  • Understanding of Linux, Java and databases
