About the role

At Jane Street, quantitative traders identify market signals, analyse and execute strategies, construct quantitative models, conduct statistical analyses, build algorithmic trading systems, manage risk, develop new businesses, and more.

Responsibilities

  • identify market signals, analyse and execute strategies, construct quantitative models, conduct statistical analyses, build algorithmic trading systems, manage risk, develop new businesses, and more
  • work side by side with experienced traders who are committed to teaching, guiding, and supporting our newest hires
  • participate in a robust year-long firmwide educational curriculum
  • apply various statistical and ML techniques depending on problem requirements
  • engage in hands-on, interactive training to acquire significant trading responsibilities within weeks to months

Qualifications

  • A profitable trading strategy is only as strong as the technology it runs on, and we consider ourselves as much a technology company as a trading firm. General programming experience is a plus, but knowing a particular programming language is not required
  • Fluent in English
  • A critical thinker with a strong quantitative mind
  • A collaborative problem-solver who enjoys working on a team
  • Proactive, reliable, and courteous with strong organisational and communication skills
  • Eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and learn new things
