About the role
Internship program at Jane Street providing experience working with full-time ML researchers on projects combining novel ML ideas with real-world trading strategies, with access to large-scale data and compute resources and an emphasis on learning and practical model development.
Responsibilities
- Spend the bulk of the internship working closely with full-time machine learning researchers on projects drawn from their own work.
- Conduct end-to-end studies of datasets, try new modelling paradigms, and consider blue-sky approaches.
- Dive into market data, tune hyperparameters, debug training issues, and analyze model predictions as needed.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate, PhD student, or postdoc with practical experience working on ML problems
- Interested in applying logical and mathematical thinking to problems
- Curious about the ML landscape and able to apply state-of-the-art techniques across domains
- Fluent with a versatile set of models and tricks
- Able to rapidly implement and iterate ideas in Python and ML frameworks
- Eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and learn new things
- Fluent in English
