- Own the research strategy behind new product development, from scoping through execution, with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead bioinformatics analysis for assay development and optimization across multi-omic approaches (methylation, fragmentomics, cfDNA features) and sequencing modalities (short-read and long-read; hybrid-capture and amplicon).
- Partner with laboratory teams on study design at research/feasibility stage, ensuring data quality for product development.
- Advise and prototype improvements to analysis pipelines (variant detection, QC, methylation calling, fragment-size/end-motif analysis, SCC for deep targeted panels, SV calling).
- Move research prototypes into stable production workflows with proper software engineering practices (version control, testing, CI/CD, containerization) and automate routine data management, pipeline execution, and reporting.
- Define appropriate use of AI tools within the team and establish standards for when human sign-off is required.
