About the role

Senior software engineer role at Corgi Insurance, an AI-native full-stack insurance carrier building an agentic product in real estate. First technical hire on the new product, responsible for architecture, stack decisions, and shipping AI-enabled features in a regulated domain.

Responsibilities

  • Own the data model for money movement and make it hold up under audit
  • Build the agent layer that does real work in the product
  • Build the ingestion pipeline that turns third-party documents and exports into structured records our users can trust
  • Own the migration path for customers coming off incumbent systems
  • Decide what our tests actually guarantee, and close the gap between green and correct
  • Set the release process: what can ship, what needs a rollback plan, what needs a gate
  • Help recruit and ramp the engineers who come after you

Qualifications

  • 3+ years shipping B2B or B2C products, with at least 3 of those in AI or fintech, insurtech, or health tech
  • 3+ years building production systems at a high-growth startup or technically demanding environment in fintech, insurtech, healthtech, payments, payroll, accounting, banking, or marketplaces with payouts or where the costs for failure is high
  • Owned services end to end including schema design, API contract, deployment, on-call, and deprecation
  • Comfortable across the stack (React, Node, Python) and able to ship multiple components in a week
  • AI-native mindset and use of modern AI tooling
  • Strong SQL and relational modeling, comfortable with live migrations
  • Able to operate as sole engineer and move fast with high ownership
  • High agency, high ownership, low drama
