About the role

SAP Functional SME to own the functional design of core finance processes on S/4HANA, bridging Finance and Engineering to deliver automated, AI-enabled finance operations at Databricks.

Responsibilities

  • Own Functional Design: Lead end-to-end process discovery and AS-IS/TO-BE design for major finance processes (Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash), define S/4HANA solution scope, and design to standard, clean-core capabilities wherever possible.
  • Configure S/4HANA: Own functional configuration, business rules, and master-data strategy for your domain, and partner with developers on extensions, APIs, and orchestration where standard functionality falls short.
  • Drive Process Intelligence: Use process mining and business process intelligence (leveraging SAP Process Intelligence and related tools) to identify root causes, quantify opportunity, and prioritize improvements; translate findings into concrete S/4HANA requirements.
  • Shape the AI & Agentic Layer: Define requirements for AI-assisted and agentic process improvements and determine where AI belongs in controlled, auditable processes.
  • Bridge Business and Engineering: Serve as the connective tissue between Finance process owners and engineering pods, defining data flows between S/4HANA, process intelligence tools, SAP BTP, and Databricks AI.
  • Run Workshops and Validate Value: Facilitate stakeholder workshops, define acceptance criteria, and lead user acceptance testing for functional and AI features.
  • Measure Outcomes: Define KPIs and track ROI for process improvements; build business cases for prioritized automation and AI initiatives.
  • Enable Adoption: Coach process owners on process intelligence, best practices, and AI adoption; drive readiness and change management for deployed solutions.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of SAP functional consulting experience, with hands-on delivery across at least one full S/4HANA lifecycle and deep expertise in one or more finance domains (Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, or Order-to-Cash)
  • Process Intelligence experience with process discovery, mapping, and mining using SAP Process Intelligence or equivalent tools
  • Clean-Core mindset with bias toward standard S/4HANA design
  • AI & Agentic Automation experience applying Databricks AI and agentic capabilities to enterprise processes
  • Integration awareness of APIs/OData, IDoc, SAP Integration Suite / BTP
  • Governance rigor with SAP authorizations, SoD, SOX and audit requirements
  • Stakeholder leadership and change-management skills; ability to present ROI to executives
  • Business-first mindset with pragmatic, outcome-driven approach
