About the role

Senior Finance Business Partner role partnering with the Borrowing collective to support Flex Credit, Loans and Overdraft portfolios; responsible for end-to-end financials, decision support, and financial controls to deliver the financial plan and drive profitability and growth for Monzo.

Responsibilities

  • Being the single point of contact between the business and finance - partnering with senior leaders to drive commercial projects, analyse performance of existing products and support day-to-day business activities.
  • Diving deep into data to identify trends and opportunities to improve profitability and growth, including scenario analysis and analytical insights to influence product engagement, pricing, and customer strategy.
  • Analysing and scoping new markets and new products - designing commercials for business cases and negotiating with partners.
  • Presenting ideas and working with stakeholders across engineering, legal, risk management, product, strategy and marketing.
  • Designing and building new processes for effective decision making as Monzo scales.
  • Supporting the development of a capable team of financial analysts with clear developmental objectives.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in financial business partnering with senior business leaders, driving commercial and revenue-generating projects, evaluating business cases and influencing decisions.
  • Strong financial modelling (advanced Excel/Google Sheets); experience pulling data with SQL/Python preferred.
  • Ability to navigate complex financial services domains and break down problems into manageable parts.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, issues and recommended actions.
  • Interpersonal and influencing skills to engage across internal functions and secure buy-in.
  • Experience building business cases, presenting and debating investment choices.
  • Hands-on approach to supporting colleagues and projects of varying size.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to develop and streamline processes.
  • Background in retail banking; understanding of credit preferred; use of NPV and ROE frameworks.
