About the role

AgentMail is building the identity layer for AI agents, starting with email. The role focuses on how AI models and agents discover and use AgentMail, including evaluation, benchmarks, agent traces, documentation, and llms.txt. Compensation ranges are provided with equity.

Responsibilities

  • Answer-engine presence: measure share of voice in prompts related to email/identity for agents and improve visibility.
  • Original research: evals and benchmarks on frontier/open source models and agent harnesses using AgentMail.
  • Agent traces: run agents against docs/site, read their reasoning, fix confusion, prevent misinformation.
  • Agent-facing surface: llms.txt, MCP descriptions, docs structure, and 3am-error messages for agents.
  • AEO content engine: steering automated page pipeline, briefing freelancers, backlink outreach to cited pages.
  • Weekly AEO briefing's action queue management (freshness debt, competitor watch).

Qualifications

  • You build with agents daily and have opinions on product usability for agents.
  • Ability to work cross-functional by default.
  • Willingness to publish honest writeups even when results are inconvenient.
  • Comfort spending time on deep technical problems and reading agent traces.
  • Understanding of retrieval: models pull chunks, not pages, and write accordingly.
