About the role

Hybrid role: Node.js backend development, technical account management, and campaign operations to build, deploy, and support WhatsApp-based loyalty and promotional campaigns for CPG brands in LATAM.

Responsibilities

  • WhatsApp Bot Development (Node.js): Design, build, and maintain WhatsApp bots for loyalty programs and promotions; API integrations with Veryfi APIs, databases, CRM tools, and third-party services; implement business rules for points, rewards, fraud prevention, validations, and user segmentation; build scalable backend services; maintain code quality and documentation.
  • Loyalty Campaign Execution (End-to-End): Translate campaign mechanics into technical flows (receipt validation, product matching, points, rewards, rankings); own technical readiness for launches (testing, validations, production deployment); implement safeguards against fraud and edge cases; post-launch monitoring, issue resolution, and iterative improvements; support technical reporting and data extraction.
  • Technical Account Management (LATAM): Serve as the main technical contact for LATAM clients during onboarding and campaigns; advise on technical approaches for loyalty/promotions; troubleshoot production issues and data discrepancies; explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; coordinate with engineering, product, and support as needed.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work with Product, Sales, Support, and Marketing to improve campaign delivery; identify patterns and suggest improvements to templates, bot flows, and backend architecture; create and maintain technical documentation; share client feedback with product/engineering.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Node.js / Backend Developer
  • Experience building chatbots, messaging platforms, or automation systems (WhatsApp preferred)
  • Startup or fast-paced environment experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with LATAM customers or regional campaigns is a big plus
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js (ESM preferred)
  • Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, async flows, and background jobs
  • Familiarity with WhatsApp Cloud API or similar messaging APIs
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
  • Understanding of authentication, security, and API best practices
  • Experience supporting production systems and live campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (Spanish required, English strongly preferred)
  • Customer-oriented mindset with ability to balance engineering and client needs
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities simultaneously
