About the role

Senior Software Engineer role within Elastic's Integrations Team, focusing on building and maintaining developer-facing surfaces that connect Elastic to external AI ecosystems, including MCP server, language clients, CLI, and third-party integrations. Emphasizes usable, connected Elastic experiences inside AI tools and agents, with cross-functional collaboration and a product-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its infrastructure, primarily in Go.
  • Build the platform for universal agent skills: portable format, authoring/publishing tooling, and linting for cross-agent skills.
  • Help set the correctness bar with evals to back shipped skills/tools.
  • Design and deliver integrations enabling Elastic inside third-party AI ecosystems, collaborating with product teams and partners.
  • Contribute to Elastic CLI to improve developer efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack in Go, Rust, and other languages as needed.
  • Bring product thinking and defend opinions on what to build and why, informed by the broader ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend systems, services, or libraries.
  • Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and MCP protocols; interest in evaluation-based correctness.
  • Significant recent experience with Go and ideally other languages.
  • Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to read and contribute to unfamiliar codebases.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices.
  • Product thinking with an interest in the wider ecosystem and high usability for developers.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; comfortable with remote, distributed teams.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
