About the role

Senior leadership role responsible for building and managing Elastic's Field Engineering team in Japan (Solutions Architects pre-sales and Customer Architects post-sales), aligning technical strategy with sales and adoption, recruiting and developing talent, and driving regional growth and partner engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the Field Engineering team, spanning both Solutions Architects (pre-sales) and Customer Architects (post-sales).
  • Provide onboarding support, training, and self-directed education programs for the team.
  • Ensure seamless customer journey by aligning pre-sales technical strategy with post-sales adoption and success.
  • Drive the value proposition for Elastic Cloud within our community and customers.
  • Communicate and align key product insights across our business functions.
  • Help Product and Engineering prioritize features meaningful to users.
  • Formulate and drive the partner engagement strategy to overachieve regional goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record and success leading and growing Field Engineering teams, including both Solutions Architects (pre-sales) and Customer Architects (post-sales).
  • Ability to articulate and sell benefits of modern platforms/technologies, preferably in Search, Security, APM, and Logging.
  • Strong grasp of distributed systems, architectures, and data analytics.
  • Ability to present and sell to audiences of varying sizes with confidence.
  • People-first leader with a focus on continuous growth for self and team.
  • Travel: 10-30% within the region.
  • Fluent English and Japanese.
