About the role

Lead Product Manager role within Monzo's Payments Platform, focusing on Finance Infrastructure to build scalable financial systems across products, entities, currencies and regulatory environments in a hybrid London role.

Responsibilities

  • Defining the product strategy and roadmap for Finance Infrastructure within Payments Platform.
  • Partnering closely with Engineering, Finance and Payments leaders to understand requirements for financial systems at scale.
  • Shifting the team from reactive delivery to a strategic, product-led approach with clear purpose and long-term impact.
  • Translating complex finance, accounting, operational and regulatory needs into scalable platform capabilities.
  • Prioritising across competing stakeholder needs, balancing urgent delivery with long-term system health.
  • Building financial infrastructure supporting multiple products, entities, countries, currencies and regulatory environments.
  • Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Finance, Engineering, Product and Operations.
  • Bringing strong product discipline, technical curiosity and systems thinking to critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Strong senior Product Manager with experience owning complex technical, platform, infrastructure or financial systems.
  • Technical depth to partner credibly with engineers and reason about systems, trade-offs and long-term architecture.
  • Interest in “boring but critical” infrastructure like ledgers, reconciliation, financial data, controls, reporting, internal platforms, abstractions or backend systems.
  • Experience working with senior and cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Engineering, Product, Operations).
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous or stakeholder-heavy environments and drive long-term strategy.
  • High-agency, ambitious, comfortable in a high-bar team.
  • Customer and business-outcome focus even when work is multi-layered from end customer.
