About the role
Staff Software Engineer role focusing on building AI-powered products, modernizing architecture, and creating reliable, observable systems. IC position with hybrid work 3 days/week in NYC NoHo. Emphasis on full-stack contribution, AI-native workflows, mentorship, and cross-team impact.
Responsibilities
- Build AI products that let studio operators automate operations
- Build agentic loops to improve product, codebase, internal systems, and delivery
- Position the company to maximize AI model usage
- Simplify infrastructure and operations for faster engineering
- Improve operational rigor with automated safety nets, alerts, and incident response
- Work across the stack (TypeScript, Node, NestJS, React, Postgres) to ship features daily
- Mentor mid and junior engineers and establish reusable patterns
- Be accountable for team delivery and impact
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience (or strong evidence of impact)
- Full-stack contributor with ability to work across the stack
- JavaScript and TypeScript background
- AI-native mindset with experience building agentic workflows, evals, and automation
- Scope of impact beyond a single team within a ~20+ engineer organization
- Track record of leading successful migrations
- Experience designing systems for reliability: observability, alerting, incident response
- Influence beyond own work, setting technical direction and mentoring
- Strong product judgment and ability to ship in small increments
- Comfort operating with high autonomy and low process
