About the role

AI tax workflow platform for accounting firms. In-person, Chandler, AZ role focused on productionizing MVPs, building reliable backend systems, and refining AI-enabled tax workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Production-harden MVPs across four products against a roadmap
  • Make document pipelines reliable at scale (classification and extraction for tax documents)
  • Tame AI non-determinism with evaluations, regression tests, provenance and guardrails
  • Build backend systems that handle real-world PDFs and integrations with tax software
  • Earn CPA trust through UX decisions that enable fast, trustworthy AI-reviewed outputs
  • Ship a real fix to production in the first weeks, own slices of product surfaces, and drive reliability improvements

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Backend strength with data modeling, APIs, reliability, and performance
  • Experience with building solid backends; Ruby on Rails is a plus but not required
  • Strong product and UX judgment; React/React Native experience a plus
  • AI-native mindset; experience with AI-first development practices (guardrails, testing)
  • Low ego, team-first attitude; proven ability to ship and collaborate
  • Ability to work in Chandler, AZ in-person 5x per week
  • US work authorization; visa not sponsored at this time
