About the role

Full-Stack Readiness Software Engineer at Soraban, an AI tax workflow platform, focused on turning validated product ideas into secure, production-ready software to scale AI-powered tax preparation workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Productionize new products: take working MVPs and build the production version; architecture, data modeling, APIs/backend services, background jobs, query performance, testing/monitoring/failure handling
  • Build for tax-season scale: performance optimization, queues/background processing, caching, database scalability, reliability/recovery, monitoring/observability
  • Build security into the product: authentication/authorization, input validation, PII handling, secure data access, audit-friendly system design
  • Own the full product experience: refine React/Next.js experiences, loading/error states, responsiveness, accessibility, workflow edge cases, user interactions

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals
  • Experience designing data models and application architecture
  • Strong understanding of query performance, background processing, caching, and scalability
  • Experience building and supporting production software
  • Security-minded engineering habits
  • Ability to work across backend and frontend systems
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to ramp quickly in an existing production codebase
