About the role

Store Floor Lead at Sur La Table in Raleigh, NC, supporting the GM/Store Manager as Manager on Duty to deliver a best-in-center customer experience and achieve sales and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty (MOD).
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement; communicate performance issues to General Manager/Store Manager.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates.
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
  • Stay current on products and training resources; independently seek out additional resources.
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and address customer concerns to maintain satisfaction.
  • Support achievement of store sales goals through effective customer engagement and team motivation.
  • Identify customer needs and offer relevant solutions to maximize selling opportunities.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals; monitor KPIs such as individual sales volume, average transaction value, and customer conversion rates.
  • Direct employees to maintain stock levels and ensure the selling floor is stocked and merchandised per visual standards.
  • Complete inventory transactions including receiving, MOS (Mark Out of Stock), and RARs (Return Authorization Requests).
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws; accurately record time worked per policy.
  • Communicate and maintain Sur La Table policies and SOPs with associates.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
  • 1 year of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to inspire, develop, and retain a high performing team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for community engagement and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.
