About the role

IT Engineer at LiveKit focused on building and owning IT systems, including identity and access, endpoint management, and governance across Okta, Workspace ONE, Google Workspace, and Slack, with an emphasis on security, compliance, and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Own identity and access engineering in Okta — group strategy, app assignments, SSO configuration, lifecycle automation, and secure access request patterns
  • Run endpoint engineering across a macOS-first fleet in Workspace ONE — provisioning, configuration baselines, patching, encryption posture, inventory hygiene, and compliance reporting
  • Administer Google Workspace and Slack at scale: user lifecycle, groups, shared drives, permissions, roles, and governance patterns
  • Bring the SaaS estate under governance — ownership, access, cost, and offboarding implications when teams change
  • Build automation to scale IT workload with headcount (onboarding, deprovisioning, access reporting, device compliance)
  • Translate security, compliance, and engineering requirements into IT controls with audit-ready evidence
  • Serve as technical escalation point for complex issues across identity, access, endpoints, and internal infrastructure — and engineer long-term solutions to prevent recurrence

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in IT engineering, IT operations, systems administration, endpoint engineering, or identity engineering
  • Administer Okta or comparable identity provider — SSO, groups, app assignments, lifecycle workflows
  • Hands-on with modern MDM (Workspace ONE or equivalent) — provisioning, configuration enforcement, patching, encryption, inventory
  • Strong Google Workspace administration and macOS endpoint depth
  • Built or improved operational workflows, automation, reporting, or internal controls
  • Excellent writing: ability to explain decisions, document systems, and keep stakeholders informed
  • Strong ownership and judgment; ability to prioritize under ambiguity; build to reduce future work
  • Hands-on contributor role, not management; building and operating systems
