About the role

Lead the Data Engineering & Delivery (DED) team within the DSPE department at Natera, delivering robust data products, data delivery systems, and ETL pipelines to support Lab Operations and Genetic Counselor/ Lab Director teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Data Engineering & Delivery (DED) team, develop and maintain data infrastructure, ingestion solutions, ETL pipelines, data products, and data delivery solutions for production support and DSPE internal applications.
  • Manage the DED team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of robust data products and systems meeting DSPE needs and project requirements.
  • Measure, report, and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Train and coach team members on new technologies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Translate DSPE business needs into technical specifications and implementation plans.
  • Create design documents for data system architecture, ETL pipelines, and data delivery solutions.
  • Contribute to development, testing, deployment, validation, maintenance, and updates of data products and systems.
  • Improve and enforce operating procedures for compliance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Create training materials and contribute to training activities for DED-owned data products and systems.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and exchange performance metrics.
  • Represent the DED team in stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Science, Operational Research, or related fields (Doctorate is a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience with a Master’s degree; minimum 2 years with a Doctorate.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., CLIA and/or FDA compliant settings).
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience leading a Data Engineering, Data Production/Delivery, or Data Analytics team.
