About the role

Elastic consulting role focused on delivering Elastic Security solutions and SIEM capabilities for enterprise customers in Canberra, Australia. The role combines architectural design, hands-on implementation, and customer-facing leadership to generate business value and drive adoption of Elastic products.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and Design: Thoroughly analyze and understand customer business pain points and intricate technical challenges
  • Gather requirements in complex enterprise customer environments
  • Master Elastic solution architectural design on platforms integrating with other enterprise technologies
  • Create and build out customer road maps
  • Demonstrate technical authority by articulating complex technical solutions clearly and persuasively
  • Implement and Deliver: Lead technology workshops with hands-on mentoring, whiteboarding, and solution development
  • Deliver outcome-based solutions
  • Lead, hands-on-deploy (from data onboarding, configuration, visualizations, alerting), and integrate Elastic products and APIs into intricate platform architectures
  • Master data modeling, develop and optimize queries, tune and scale clusters for fast search and analytics at scale
  • Solve customers’ platform, configuration, data and cyber security problems
  • Grow and Expand: Orchestrate capacity planning in mission-critical environments
  • Perform technical audits, upgrades, platform migrations, and use-case expansion
  • Guide customers along their Cyber journey
  • Influence and Collaborate: Work with Elastic Engineering, Product Management, and Support to identify feature enhancements and defects
  • Engage with Elastic Sales to scope opportunities and address technical risks
  • Mentor/coach for fellow Elastic consultants
  • Communicate to stakeholders up to C-suite level

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years as a Consulting Architect or senior IT functional leadership experience
  • Solid experience deploying Elastic Security solutions or similar SIEM domains (Splunk, ArcSight, IBM QRadar) or at least 2 years in Threat Detection/Response as a Security Analyst
  • Australian security clearance (NV1 minimum) mandatory
  • History of delivering professional services engagements as a Consultant
  • Strong customer advocacy, relationship-building, presentation and communications skills
  • Ability to lead meetings with project owners and C-level stakeholders
  • Articulate business value of outcome-based delivery while being technically hands-on
  • Demonstrated technical leadership throughout project lifecycles
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework for Enterprise defense
  • Fundamental understanding of security tool capabilities
  • Understanding and passion for cyber security and open-source technology
  • Hands-on experience in on-prem and/or public/private cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Openstack)
  • Hands-on experience in Linux
  • Good understanding of networking, security, containerization, serverless, DevOps, and infrastructure automation
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, Javascript, Go, Chef/Puppet, etc.)
  • Understanding of databases
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Comfortable working on customer site regularly
