About the role

AI Analyst role at Emergent focusing on end-to-end analytics for a fast-scaling AI app platform. Works at the intersection of product, growth, and finance to analyze, model, and accelerate insights using AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own subscription and product analytics end-to-end: conversion funnels, cohort retention, churn analysis, LTV modeling, and revenue tracking
  • Build and maintain production dashboards and alerting systems for daily business-critical metrics
  • Conduct deep exploratory analysis on user behavior, identify engagement patterns, diagnose drop-offs, and quantify impact of product/pricing changes
  • Write optimized SQL against a modern data stack (BigQuery, PostgreSQL) with complex CTEs, window functions, and cross-database joins
  • Maintain and evolve analytics knowledge base with schemas, metric definitions, and data quality notes for self-serve
  • Partner with product and engineering to define experiments, validate A/B tests, and ensure proper attribution across channels
  • Use AI tooling (Claude, MCP servers, agentic pipelines) to automate data exploration, query generation, anomaly detection, and reporting

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of strong SQL proficiency, experience with CTEs and window functions, understanding partitioning tradeoffs, cross-source result validation
  • Experience with subscription/SaaS metrics: MRR, churn, cohort analysis, conversion funnels, usage-based billing
  • Hypothesis-driven mindset with iterative testing and revision based on data
  • Comfort with messy, evolving data infrastructure; ability to navigate pipeline delays and schema inconsistencies
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools (PostHog, Mixpanel, Amplitude or similar) and concepts like identity stitching and multi-touch attribution
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations used by non-technical stakeholders
  • Eagerness to use AI assistants and agentic tools in daily workflow
  • Strong async communication skills for documenting findings and proposing next steps
