About the role

Craft-obsessed, systems-minded Product Designer to evolve Tavus’s design systems and eventually own a product area, working closely with product, engineering, and leadership in a fast-paced startup.

Responsibilities

  • - Architect for scale: Define token architecture, component structure, and theming model across products and surfaces.
  • - Own governance, not just files: Establish standards, documentation, and contribution model for system coherence.
  • - Partner deeply with engineering: Work with frontend engineers to ensure faithful and effective implementation.
  • - Elevate craft everywhere: Apply meticulous visual and interaction craft, including motion and micro-interactions, to components and patterns.
  • - Drive adoption: Create artifacts, documentation, and relationships that encourage use of the design system by designers, engineers, and marketers.

Qualifications

  • - 6+ years of experience as a product designer with solid UX judgment.
  • - Experienced in building and governing design systems at scale (architected and evolved systems).
  • - Proficient in typography, color, layout, motion design; able to translate craft into System design.
  • - Able to defend design decisions, articulate tradeoffs, and push back when needed.
  • - Technically fluent; comfortable reviewing implementation and speaking the language of engineers.
  • - Comfortable operating in startup pace with minimal specs and shifting priorities.
