About the role

Senior Analyst role within the Recon and Reporting team responsible for reconciliation and financial reporting across card networks, banks, processors, and internal systems to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely funds movement for Cash App.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prioritize, design, develop, and deploy end-to-end reconciliation and reporting solutions: matching logic, break dashboards, exception queues, settlement summaries, and standardized journals that feed downstream accounting, audit, and regulatory processes.
  • Own time-sensitive daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across card networks, banking partners, processors, and internal transaction/ledger data; manage discrepancies end-to-end.
  • Translate business, finance, and regulatory needs into metrics and controls; define and roll out reconciliation and reporting metrics (match rates, break aging, time-to-resolution, funding compliance, reporting SLAs).
  • Serve as subject matter expert on settlement, funding, and money-movement flows; respond to questions on transaction lifecycles, data models, and the reconciliation tech stack.
  • Design, develop, and document automated SQL-based reporting; navigate datasets to answer complex questions about funds flow.
  • Collaborate with data engineering to design, build, validate, and maintain datasets and pipelines powering reconciliation and reporting; balance accuracy and effort.
  • Identify control gaps, revenue leakage, and data-quality issues; drive automation and process improvements; monitor settlement and banking activity for irregularities.
  • Manage relationships with Engineering, Product, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Compliance; influence priorities and roadmap.
  • Lead month-end close support for reconciliation reporting, summaries, and audit-ready documentation; support internal and external audits.
  • Define business requirements and test plans for system changes; validate processes and reconciliation capabilities; partner with Engineering and Data teams to fix bugs and ship enhancements.
  • Onboard and mentor analysts; review code and promote reconciliation best practices.
  • Apply an AI-first mindset to improve speed, quality, and insight of analysis and guide responsible AI use.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, accounting, or finance analytics with a Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics, quantitative field) or 3+ years with a Master's degree; equivalent experience.
  • Expert-level SQL; design, development, and documentation of automated SQL-based reporting; navigate new datasets independently.
  • Experience owning reconciliation, settlement, or financial reporting workstreams end to end; define metrics and drive adoption.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry concepts, and money movement mechanics.
  • Experience partnering with data engineering to design, build, validate, and maintain data pipelines.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with reconciliation tooling and banking portals.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to manage senior stakeholders and drive clear next steps.
  • Track record of process improvements and automation in a deadline-driven, high-accuracy environment.
