About the role

Senior Software Engineer role on Cloudflare's Addressing Team, focusing on architecture, development, and maintenance of core microservices to manage IP addressing, traffic engineering, and API-driven BGP control, primarily using Go.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new APIs and data models to manage addressing needs
  • Architect, program, and maintain core software services for large corporate networks
  • Learn and work on edge routers, servers, DNS and IP provisioning pipelines
  • Collaborate with SREs, network engineers, and product engineering teams to build automated systems across the Cloudflare stack
  • Work on microservices written mainly in Go and technologies listed in the description

Qualifications

  • Experience writing high-quality code in system programming languages (Go, Python, C/C++)
  • Experience with modern Unix/Linux development and runtime environments
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and basic networking
  • Understanding of HTTP/S/TLS stack
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems
  • Excellent debugging skills and attention to detail
