About the role

Senior Engineering Manager leading Cloudflare’s billing and payments infrastructure team, rebuilding the billing platform and metering/aggregation layer to scale financial infrastructure across Cloudflare’s ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining Cloudflare’s billing and payments infrastructure.
  • Oversee development of scalable, high-reliability financial infrastructure that handles everything related to Cloudflare’s revenue.
  • Play a key role in rebuilding the entire billing platform and designing a next-generation financial infrastructure for financial accuracy and seamless performance.
  • Drive execution of complex technical initiatives to ensure architecture is resilient, scalable, and future-proof.
  • Grow and mentor a high-performing engineering team; set clear expectations, provide feedback, and foster an environment where engineers thrive.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, finance, data science, operations and support to align technical decisions with business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively, manage priorities, and navigate a fast-paced environment to drive success.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a team or multiple teams of senior and staff engineers.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, driving alignment, and communicating technical direction for large cross-company efforts.
  • Comfortable leading and hiring a team that builds backend systems and frontend parts of the product.
  • Excel at planning, creating teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
  • Comfortable building developer-loved APIs that scale.
  • Track record of leading a team including hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
