About the role

Automation-focused role to design, build, and operate AI-assisted and automated workflows that replace manual data collection, reconciliation, and evidence gathering for Cloudflare’s Data Center Security Compliance (DCSC) team across 700+ sites and 105 vendor portals.

Responsibilities

  • Portal Automation & User List Extraction: design and maintain automated scripts (Playwright, Puppeteer, or equivalent) to log into vendor data center portals, extract user access lists, and feed structured output into DCSC pipelines; build fallback handling for blocked portals; schedule recurring extractions aligned to QAR/MAR cycles with failure alerts.
  • ACL Reconciliation & Diff Engine: automate ingestion of portal-extracted lists and compare against master ACL; surface discrepancies; route discrepancies to Jira; maintain immutable audit trails.
  • Attestation & Evidence Automation: own attestation workflow within the DCSC Portal; automate cycle triggering, manager notification, time-stamped confirmation, and exception escalation; build pipelines for audit-ready evidence packages across SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, ISMAP, IRAP; ensure GRC alignment.
  • AI-Assisted Anomaly Detection & Triage: implement LLM-based review passes to surface escalation patterns; automate Jira ticket onboarding/offboarding checks; maintain model performance and feedback loops.

Qualifications

  • Automation Engineering: experience with browser automation (Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium) against real-world web apps, including auth flows and anti-bot mitigations.
  • TypeScript Proficiency: scripting, data wrangling, structured I/O, API integration; maintainable, well-documented code.
  • LLM Integration: experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) into production workflows for classification, drafting, or anomaly detection.
  • Data Engineering Fundamentals: handling structured/semi-structured data at scale, diffing datasets, normalizing formats for audit outputs.
  • API & Workflow Integration: experience with REST APIs for ticketing/ITSM systems (Jira preferred) for automated ticket creation/status updates/attachments.
  • Systems Thinking: map end-to-end manual workflows to identify high-leverage automation points; incremental shipping.
  • Workflow Archaeology: extract process knowledge via structured interviews to automate tribal knowledge.
  • Bias Toward Simplicity: deliver real-time savings with minimum viable automation.
  • Compliance Awareness: understanding of audit consequences of incorrect diffs or missing artifacts.
