About the role

Software Engineer II focused on building core Elastic Defend management capabilities, including policy configuration, EDR workflows, OSquery forensics, and SIEM-related extensions. Collaborates across product, design, and security teams to deliver high-scale features and AI-enhanced development within the Elastic Defend and OSquery ecosystem from a Kibana perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Implement features that power Elastic Defend user interface capabilities.
  • Contribute to the architecture of Elastic Defend management and response actions framework along with OSquery forensics capabilities.
  • Develop scalable, high performance systems within the Elastic ecosystem.
  • Write production-grade code in Typescript/Node JS (and potentially other languages) as part of high-quality, well-tested codebase.
  • Collaborate with other Elastic engineering teams when working on cross-team efforts.
  • Help with engineering standards, tooling and team processes improvements driven by AI usage.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Work with a globally distributed team focused on delivering Elastic Defend and OSquery capabilities from Kibana perspective.
  • Collaborate with team members on large product features.
  • Use AI to accelerate development work.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js and React JS; TypeScript is a plus.
  • AI-powered development mindset and ability to use AI for problem understanding and ramp-up.
  • Curious and collaborative, comfortable in team meetings and asynchronous feedback across timezones.
  • Initiative-taking mindset: asks questions, avoids assumptions, seeks process/product improvements.
