About the role

Software Engineer II on the Security EDR Workflows team, building core capabilities that power Elastic Defend, including policy configuration, management, response actions, and OSquery forensics to protect and respond to security threats. Collaborates across teams and uses AI to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

  • Implement features that power Elastic Defend user interface capabilities.
  • Contribute to the architecture of Elastic Defend management and response actions framework along with OSquery forensics capabilities.
  • Develop scalable, high performance systems within the Elastic ecosystem.
  • Write production-grade code in Typescript/Node JS (and potentially other languages) as part of a high-quality, well-tested codebase.
  • Collaborate with other Elastic engineering teams on cross-team efforts.
  • Assist with engineering standards, tooling and team process improvements driven by AI usage.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Work with a globally distributed team focused on delivering Elastic Defend and OSquery capabilities from Kibana perspective.
  • Collaborate with team members on large product features.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate development work.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Node.js and React.js; TypeScript a plus.
  • Ability to leverage AI for problem understanding and rapid ramp-up.
  • AI-powered development mindset.
  • Curious and engaged in team meetings.
  • Comfortable developing collaboratively, giving/receiving feedback asynchronously across timezones.
  • Initiative-taking mindset: asks questions, avoids assumptions, seeks product and process improvements.
