About the role

Software Engineer II on the Security EDR Workflows team responsible for building core capabilities powering Elastic Defend management, policy configuration, response actions, OSquery forensics, and SIEM-related workflows. Collaborates across product, design, and security engineering to deliver high-scale features with an AI-powered development approach.

Responsibilities

  • Implement features that power Elastic Defend user interface capabilities.
  • Contribute to the architecture of Elastic Defend management and response actions framework along with OSquery forensics capabilities.
  • Develop scalable, high performance systems within the Elastic ecosystem.
  • Write production-grade code in TypeScript/Node JS (and potentially other languages) as part of a high-quality, well-tested codebase.
  • Collaborate with other Elastic engineering teams on cross-team efforts.
  • Help with engineering standards, tooling and team processes improvements driven by AI usage.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Work with a globally distributed team focused on delivering Elastic Defend and OSquery capabilities from Kibana perspective.
  • Collaborate with team members on large product features.
  • Use AI to accelerate development work.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of TypeScript/Node.js and React.js skills. TypeScript is a plus.
  • Ability to leverage AI for problem understanding and rapid ramp-up to solutions.
  • AI-powered development mindset.
  • Curiosity and willingness to engage in team meetings.
  • Comfort with collaborative development and giving/receiving feedback across timezones.
  • Initiative-taking mindset: asks the right questions, avoids assumptions, seeks product/process improvements.
