About the role

Fungible Solutions Architect focusing on time-boxed, strategic engagements in Benelux and Nordics to accelerate critical customer workloads from evaluation to production, coordinating architecture discussions and transitioning momentum to core teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical strategy on time-boxed engagements (typically 1–5 months) to accelerate critical customer workloads from evaluation to production-grade wins.
  • Own the architecture conversation, drive platform adoption, and act as a trusted advisor to customer architects and engineering leaders.
  • Design scalable, production-grade solutions across data engineering, ML/AI, and real-time analytics; lead whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off decisions with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Win the technical decision by demonstrating Databricks differentiation through custom-built solutions in must-win scenarios.
  • Move fast while maintaining quality by building momentum in ambiguous situations and compressing timelines without cutting corners.
  • Package progress into a clean hand-off to core SAs, DSAs, specialists, or partners to sustain and expand wins.
  • Scale by bringing back patterns, plays, and product feedback to make future engagements faster.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience (typically ~6+) in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role, or equivalent depth.
  • Hands-on coding ability in Python and SQL, with ability to build, debug, and demonstrate working solutions live.
  • Depth in distributed data systems and production cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), scalable pipelines, streaming, and lakehouse patterns; knowledge of infrastructure, security, and governance.
  • Proficiency on the Databricks Platform, or ability to ramp quickly; strong spike in areas such as real-time/streaming, ML/AI, data governance, or migrations is valuable.
  • Experience leading architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders, design reviews, trade-off analysis, and translating architecture into business value for engineers and executives.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, strong prioritization, and a genuine preference for variety and high-impact work.
