About the role
Senior Software Engineer on the Investments Team responsible for leading and hands-on development of scaled, novel, and compliant Trading & Custody systems to power Mercury's Treasury and Invest products and support internal Investment Operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects across the Investments space.
- Architect, build, and scale brokerage trading and/or custody systems and processes.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance to ship thoughtful features for customers and internal users.
- Demonstrate strong product ownership and actively assume responsibility to help shape Mercury’s future.
- Join a team of engineers who manage billions of dollars of customer assets.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of backend experience with a strong sense of ownership and detail.
- Domain knowledge of broker-dealer trading and/or custody systems that support equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds.
- Experience with AWS and infrastructure solutions and understanding of scale.
- Experience as technical lead on complex projects with multiple stakeholders from inception to completion and a track record of success.
- Ability to articulate technical opinions and lay out tradeoffs; experience making architectural decisions with impact over time.
