About the role

Senior individual-contributor role shaping regional technical strategy for Cloudflare’s Developer Platform across APJC and Greater China, with hands-on architecture, mentorship, and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Shape Strategy: Guide the technical strategy for strategic Developer Platform customers and partners across the region.
  • Design & Translate: Transform complex business, application, security, and operational requirements into secure, scalable, and highly maintainable architectures on Cloudflare.
  • Collaborate & Advise: Partner with engineering executives and senior stakeholders to advise on application modernization, distributed systems, AI architecture, and platform strategy.
  • Facilitate Discovery: Lead architecture discovery sessions, technical workshops, proofs of concept, design reviews, and production-readiness discussions in a supportive, consultative manner.
  • Create Frameworks: Establish reference architectures, architectural standards, and governance patterns that empower our customers and the broader APJC field organization.
  • Stay Hands-On: Build, review, and troubleshoot representative applications and integrations to stay deeply connected to the technology.
  • Champion the Region: Serve as a Principal technical leader through presentations, public speaking, written guidance, and internal enablement.
  • Mentor & Grow: Support, develop, and mentor solutions architects and technical colleagues navigating complex customer engagements.
  • Bridge Teams: Build effective, continuous feedback loops between customers, field teams, and product leaders, translating regional needs into actionable product and go-to-market recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Meaningful Experience: A strong background in solutions architecture, software engineering, technical consulting, or a related customer-facing technical role.
  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to lead technical and executive discussions in both languages.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Track record of guiding complex technical strategies involving developers, infrastructure teams, security stakeholders, and senior executives.
  • Technical Depth: Deep working knowledge of distributed application architecture (compute, storage, networking, security, reliability, observability).
  • Hands-On Capability: Software-development experience, including the ability to build or review production-quality applications and proofs of concept (preferably in JavaScript or TypeScript).
  • Ecosystem Knowledge: Understanding of modern web technologies, serverless/cloud-native architectures, modern software-delivery practices, and at least one major public cloud platform.
  • Influential Leadership: Ability to influence without direct authority and mentor colleagues.
  • Communication: Excellent written, presentation, and facilitation skills for developer, architectural, and executive audiences.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 30%, primarily within APJC and mainland China.
