About the role

Part-time Nurse Practitioner role on the Blueberry Balance program, a pediatric-led metabolic health service for adolescents, delivering weight-management care and GLP-1 therapy where appropriate under physician oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive patient intake for adolescents entering the program, including history, risk factors, and eligibility review
  • Order appropriate labs and review results, escalating findings that fall outside program guardrails
  • Meet with patients and families to design an appropriate, individualized care plan
  • Prescribe and manage GLP-1 therapy where clinically appropriate and within prescriptive authority, within a holistic plan including nutrition and behavioral support
  • Manage ongoing care for patients and families over time: monitoring visits, dose management, side-effect and safety management, adherence support
  • Coordinate with other care team members — physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, health coaches
  • Follow the program's clinical protocols and escalation pathways, surface complex cases to supervising MD or Physician Lead

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license in good standing, with national board certification (e.g., FNP-BC/FNP-C or PNP-PC) appropriate to caring for adolescents
  • Active prescriptive authority, willingness to obtain and maintain licensure/prescriptive authority in Balance states
  • Comfort and credibility caring for adolescents and families
  • Interest in adolescent and obesity medicine, willingness to complete light onboarding training in weight/obesity management and GLP-1 therapy
  • Availability of 20–80 hours per month
  • Strong written communication; comfortable operating in asynchronous, distributed telehealth care team under physician oversight
