About the role
Founding member role responsible for designing and executing growth programs to engage top Seed–Series B startups, drive adoption of Cursor, and turn founder-users into advocates. Based in San Francisco; in-office role.
Responsibilities
- Design the startup events playbook: Build and execute a data-driven marketing plan for the startup segment, focused on landing and growing usage within top Seed–Series B companies across YC and the broader ecosystem.
- Own the founder funnel and footprint: Deploy a mix of founder events, hackathons, executive/founder roundtables, and community activations to acquire the right startups and drive meaningful success using Cursor.
- Build ecosystem relationships: Partner with VCs, accelerators, and other startup partners to reach their portfolio founders through growth programs, content, and co-hosted moments; identify which partners to engage deeply.
- Creativity: Break the standard playbook by avoiding generic engagement formats and design around how founders actually build and gather.
- Founder advocacy: Surface and amplify founder/customer stories and feature them in events; be a trusted partner to founders using Cursor.
- Event orchestration: Own programs end to end from ideation to onsite experience and follow-up; ensure high-signal, founder-centric execution.
- Data-driven iteration: Track spend against outcomes (activation, usage, retention, advocacy) and optimize budget for high-impact investments.
- GTM partnership: Collaborate with Events, Growth, PMM, and Field Engineering; involve Field Engineers to help founders build automations and identify readiness for Enterprise conversations.
- Product and marketing partnership: Provide real-time founder community insights on messaging, credits/billing, features, and competitive shifts.
