About the role

Director responsible for shaping and executing Elastic's inorganic growth strategy through end-to-end M&A and strategic partnerships, reporting to the VP of Corporate Development and collaborating with executive leadership across product, finance, and legal.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive market assessments to identify suitable acquisition targets and evaluate industry trends; collaborate with cross-functional teams for market insights
  • Develop financial models to project cash flows and revenue impacts for potential acquisitions; analyze historical financial performance of targets
  • Lead the entire M&A process from sourcing to closing; conduct thorough due diligence to identify risks and evaluate synergies
  • Drive post-merger integration planning with functional stakeholders to capture deal value
  • Prepare and present materials for executive and board-level audiences

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital, growth equity, or corporate development at a leading technology company; successful track record of executing M&A transactions
  • Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills; deep experience with negotiation and deal structuring
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex analyses clearly and concisely
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and business judgment
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
