About the role
Director level role owning external reporting, technical accounting, and disclosure-ready framework for Beast Industries. Reports to Corporate Controller; leads in-house team, manages external co-source, interfaces with auditors, and drives the company’s accounting policy library and disclosure controls.
Responsibilities
- Own the preparation of external financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures, building toward a recurring filing cadence
- Own technical accounting positions across the group, including segment reporting, EPS, stock-based compensation (ASC 718), revenue recognition (ASC 606), and business combinations (ASC 805)
- Research, evaluate, and document complex, non-standard transactions in clear, auditable technical memos
- Build and maintain the external reporting calendar, disclosure controls and procedures, and the supporting tie-out process
- Monitor, assess, and lead the adoption of new accounting standards, and own the company's accounting policy library
- Direct external co-source workstreams for drafting and technical memos, transitioning capabilities in-house over time
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external auditors and support audit committee reporting
- Manage, mentor, and develop the technical accounting and external reporting team
- Partner with FP&A, Legal, and equity administration on reporting inputs, KPIs, and narrative disclosures
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience with deep ownership of external reporting and technical accounting; mix of Big 4 public accounting and issuer reporting experience
- CPA required
- Expert-level US GAAP knowledge and command of SEC reporting requirements, including Regulation S-X and S-K
- Experience preparing a company for public company reporting or supporting a registration statement is strongly preferred
- Track record owning complex technical positions in multi-business-unit organizations
- Experience with disclosure controls and internal controls over financial reporting
- Hands-on, player-coach leadership style, capable of both executing detailed work and developing a team
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical memo drafting
- Builder mentality and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
