Profiling Lab Operations Associate I
About the role
Profiling Lab Operations Associate at Nomic performing high-throughput multiplex immunoassays to quantify hundreds to thousands of disease-relevant protein biomarkers using the nELISA platform. On-site role in Montreal with focus on hands-on lab work, data quality, and collaboration to accelerate drug discovery.
Responsibilities
- Process cell culture supernatants and human biological specimens (e.g., plasma, serum, CSF, saliva, and urine) through high-throughput workflows, including sample preparation, assay washing, and flow cytometry-based readout.
- Work in BSL-1 and BSL-2 laboratory environments following biosafety procedures.
- Prepare assay reagents, consumables, and other materials required for daily operations.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment (plate washers, liquid handlers, flow cytometers, centrifuges).
- Record and manage laboratory information using Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Support manufacturing of critical assay reagents.
- Perform routine laboratory operational tasks (assay batch records, inventory cycle counts, aliquoting reagents, restocking consumables, cleaning glassware/equipment).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a GLP-certified laboratory.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a BSL-2 laboratory.
- Minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience with flow cytometry.
- Experience with automated liquid handlers is an asset.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous, organized, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team; comfortable following digital protocols.
- Availability to work a regular schedule within 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work.

About Nomic Bio
Nomic is doing for proteins what Illumina has done for DNA
Nomic is doing for protein profiling, what Illumina did for DNA sequencing. Our core technology, the nELISA, is a next-gen immunoassay platform that transforms the ELISA into a high-throughput, high-content, and high-versatility tool. Today we developed the nELISA for high-throughput drug discovery scientists, enabling them profile 100s of proteins at 10x higher throughput and 10x lower cost compared to existing solutions. We're offering the nELISA through early access programs to HTS groups in top pharmas as well as pioneering biotechs in the space. Our goal is to create a ubiquitous technology that consolidates the broad range of legacy immunoassay toolkits that scientists use today with a single platform that can carry the science end-to-end, from discovery all the way to the clinic. We're a team of engineers, biologists, and highly-skilled lab operators that are looking to grow quickly to keep up with customer demand but also to continue developing our core technology, scale our multiplexing/throughput, and build our software stack. We're hiring on a number of positions including engineering, software, biology, and ops. Come talk to us!
