About the role

Role owning IT and corporate engineering at Flex (end-to-end), reporting to the CTO. Focus on enablement, corporate security posture, automation, and building self-service IT capabilities in a small, autonomous function.

Responsibilities

  • Own IT and corporate engineering end to end: the roadmap, the budget, the vendor relationships, and the outcomes.
  • Manage external IT partner as delivery capacity: define scope, set SLA, own escalation path when it slips.
  • Design joiner/mover/leaver process and entitlement model to enable day-one onboarding and same-day deprovisioning.
  • Administer and improve identity/productivity stack (Okta, Google Workspace) including SSO, SCIM, and group/role design.
  • Own operational policy: device standards, access-request workflow, SaaS onboarding and procurement review; ensure fast review to avoid bypasses.
  • Build automation: provisioning, access reviews, asset/license reconciliation, internal tooling reducing manual work across SaaS estate.
  • Run endpoint and MDM program across distributed/global company; maintain audit-ready fleet.
  • Own Flex's corporate security posture: conditional access, MFA, session/device rules, privileged access, third-party OAuth/workspace grants review.
  • Design and deliver security awareness/training program beyond annual videos.
  • Partner with security engineers to align identity decisions with product/infrastructure security; involve them in provisioning data.
  • Collaborate with People, Finance, and Legal on onboarding/offboarding, spend, and audit evidence.
  • Be an internal service: publish ownership, respond to requests, preempt friction.

Qualifications

  • Substantial hands-on experience owning IT or corporate engineering at a growing company (roughly 6+ years, focus on what you’ve owned).
  • Hands-on ownership of an identity provider at design level (SSO, SCIM, SAML, group/entitlement modeling).
  • Experience running Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 as a platform.
  • Real MDM and endpoint experience across macOS (and ideally Windows) in remote/hybrid environments.
  • Automation ability in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Go, TypeScript, etc.).
  • Experience designing an access model and running access reviews.
  • Ownership of identity security decisions (MFA, conditional access, privileged access, third-party app grants).
  • Experience managing outsourced IT providers/MSPs; ability to evaluate success/failure of vendors.
  • Clear written communication; comfortable with asynchronous, cross-team work.
