About the role

Senior Customer Engineer (Pre-sales) role focusing on technical go-to-market, trusted advisory, and AI-augmented workflows to drive adoption and expansion of Cloudflare’s portfolio in enterprise contexts, reporting to the Regional Customer Engineering Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Validation: Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, build bespoke architectures, and deliver product demonstrations and PoCs across Security, Networking, Zero Trust and Developer Platforms.
  • Trusted Advisory: Maintain continuous, deep relationships with key stakeholders through onboarding, maturity, renewal, and expansion.
  • Strategic Alignment: Own long-term technical relationship across the customer lifecycle, aligning evolving business goals with product roadmap.
  • Commercial Accountability & Expansion: Carry a variable quota tied to new business and/or ongoing account growth; lead QBRs to translate platform capabilities into ROI for C-level.
  • AI Orchestration & Workflow Automation: Act as an AI-Augmented engineer leveraging AI agents to automate routine tasks and reclaim time for strategic advisory.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineer).
  • Broad technical expertise spanning web security, networking (routing, DNS, DDoS), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
  • Proven track record in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environments with SaaS metrics and enterprise sales cycles.
  • Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills bridging technical details with C-suite strategy.
