About the role

Role within a local Enterprise Sales Pod in Bangalore combining Enterprise AE ownership with technical FDE capabilities to architect and deploy production solutions on Telnyx's global network for enterprise customers, focusing on outcomes over product demos.

Responsibilities

  • Embed with enterprise customers to understand their communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges firsthand
  • Build and deploy custom implementations: AI Voice Assistants, Telnyx APIs (Voice, Messaging, Fax, Wireless), WebRTC
  • Run open-weight LLMs in customer environments and deploy self-hosted stacks when required
  • Deploy and operate LiteLLM as the model gateway in customer environments
  • Instrument and govern LLM usage through the gateway (cost tracking, caching, logging, observability, guardrails)
  • Wire production observability for all shipped solutions (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting)
  • Design model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads with latency, cost, and quality considerations
  • Make build-vs-buy decisions between self-hosted models and hosted APIs; keep customer code portable
  • Adapt models to customer domains, including English and Indic languages, with regulatory alignment (DPDP Act, data localization, RBI)
  • Lead POCs, pilots, and production launches from whiteboard to go-live
  • Own customer outcomes and ensure live, stable deployments
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap based on field insights from India
  • Create technical documentation, runbooks, and handoff-ready solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues with customer teams

Qualifications

  • CS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years building and shipping production software with on-call and debugging experience
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Go (Telnyx Edge Compute uses TypeScript)
  • Understanding of production model behavior: rate limits, timeouts, retries, streaming, token accounting, concurrency failure modes
  • Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes including secrets, config, upgrades
  • Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog/ELK)
  • High-concurrency experience with Kafka or similar, understanding partitioning, consumer groups, backpressure
  • API development from scratch (OpenAPI, REST/GraphQL, auth, rate limiting, versioning, idempotency)
  • Event-driven/cloud-native mindset
  • Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice/messaging systems
  • Self-sufficient, independent problem-solver who can engage directly with customers
  • Customer-facing engineering experience with discovery and executive-facing communication
  • Ability to translate issues into root cause analysis
  • Willing to work from Bangalore or relocate; hybrid role with travel across India
  • Legally authorized to work in India or eligible for sponsorship
