About the role

Forward Deployed Engineer embedded with enterprise customers in Seoul to architect and deploy production workloads on Telnyx’s global network, focusing on delivering production outcomes (AI contact center, SOC/NOC agent, global communications, connected mobility, enterprise inference) rather than demos. Works alongside an Enterprise AE to own technical discovery, architecture, POC, and production go-live, driving real customer value across Korea and the broader SEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Embed with enterprise customers to understand their communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges firsthand
  • Build and deploy custom implementations: AI Voice Assistants, Telnyx APIs (Voice, Messaging, Fax, Wireless), WebRTC
  • Run open-weight LLMs in customer environments via Telnyx Inference or deploy self-hosted stacks behind own serving engine
  • Deploy and operate LiteLLM as the model gateway in customer environments with routing, load balancing, retries, fallbacks, rate limits, and per-team virtual keys
  • Instrument and govern LLM usage through the gateway — cost tracking, caching, logging and observability, guardrails
  • Wire production observability for metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting (Prometheus + Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog/ELK)
  • Design model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads with latency, cost, and quality considerations
  • Make build-vs-buy decisions between self-hosted models and hosted APIs; keep customer code portable
  • Adapt models to customer domains with prompt/RAG pipelines and Korean language regulatory considerations
  • Lead POCs, pilots, and production launches from whiteboard to go-live
  • Own customer outcomes — stay engaged until solution is live and stable
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape roadmap from field insights in Korea and SEA
  • Create technical documentation, runbooks, and maintainable solutions for handoff
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues with customer teams

Qualifications

  • CS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years building and shipping production software
  • Proficiency in Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Go (TypeScript preferred for Telnyx Edge Compute)
  • Practical understanding of production model constraints (rate limits, timeouts, retries, cost attribution)
  • Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes with secrets management, config, and upgrades
  • Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog/ELK)
  • High-concurrency experience with Kafka or similar; understand partitioning, consumer groups, backpressure
  • Experience building APIs from scratch (OpenAPI, REST/GraphQL, auth, rate limiting, versioning, idempotency)
  • Event-driven/cloud-native mindset
  • Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice/messaging systems
  • Self-sufficient, able to work independently with customers
  • Customer-facing engineering experience with ability to run discovery and present to executives
  • Ability to translate user-reported issues into root cause
  • Willingness to travel across South Korea and broader SEA region; hybrid work model
  • Legally authorized to work in South Korea, or eligible for sponsorship
