About the role

Engineer to help build and own Owner's authentication and authorization platform, including login, sessions, permissions, service-to-service auth, and related APIs and infrastructure. Remote-focused role with impact on security, reliability, and scalability across the product surface.

Responsibilities

  • Design and improve authentication and authorization systems powering the platform across product surfaces.
  • Own critical auth infrastructure end to end (login, sessions, token management, service-to-service auth, account security, access enforcement).
  • Improve reliability and observability with alerts, dashboards, and runbooks for critical access flows.
  • Raise security bar by identifying risks and implementing controls for secure auth as a foundational system.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate coding, reviewing, and solving problems.
  • Participate in interviewing and helping build a strong team.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience building and shipping production backend systems with ownership of critical services end to end.
  • Comfort with Typescript or Javascript with experience building web-scale applications.
  • Hands-on experience building authentication, authorization, identity, permissions, security, or similar platform infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, databases, and operational reliability.
  • Strong sense of ownership and urgency; ability to drive toward clarity and progress.
