About the role

Experienced Data Centre Facilities Engineer to operate and maintain Jane Street's global data centres and colocation sites, liaising between internal teams and external providers to ensure 100% uptime, with involvement in technical project management and build-out/fit-out of facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise between internal teams and external data centres and colocation service providers to ensure 100% uptime across critical facilities portfolio
  • Involved with technical project management and the build out/fit out of data centres and colocation sites
  • Apply knowledge of interdependencies of data centre functions and technologies to operational risk decisions
  • Work autonomously and manage time effectively in a collaborative environment across internal departments and external vendors
  • Cover all aspects of our complex distributed data centre and colocation environments

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, design, commissioning, construction, maintenance or operations of mission-critical data centres, trading floors or similar 24/7 facilities
  • Experience managing projects and operations supporting mission-critical facilities; able to manage data centre providers and deliver creative solutions
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders; ability to describe problems clearly
