About the role

Head of Finance to own the finance function end to end, including monthly close, cash position, budget/plan, and reporting. Focus on building data pipelines from inventory and CRM to enable automated, contract- and product-level margins, with a five-day monthly close and close collaboration with leadership and the board.

Responsibilities

  • Close the month and steer the cash: Produce the P&L and cash position within five working days of month end; own the monthly close and predictable calendar; manage working capital, collections, and payment terms; provide granular margin reporting by contract and product.
  • Build the data chain behind the numbers: Connect inventory and CRM data to reporting for automatic figures; establish reporting and modelling foundations.
  • Own the budget, the plan and the forecast: Build annual budget; reforecast frequently; adjust plan quickly as market conditions change.
  • Be the finance voice for the leadership team and the board: Produce consistent board pack and investor reporting; identify where margin is made and drive supplier/client decisions; run scenario analyses for strategic trade-offs.
  • Build the function: Manage the finance team (accounting and FP&A); keep fundraising readiness with an updated data room.

Qualifications

  • Experience building financial reporting including close processes and cash management; ability to explain how numbers are produced.
  • Experience in a business with real physical flows (inventory, purchasing, supply) and reliable figure extraction from such processes.
  • Ownership of a living budget/plan with frequent reforecasting tied to actuals and price movements.
  • Ability to defend margin attribution down to contract level before leadership.
  • Experience with investor reporting and financing conversations.
  • Experience in scale-up environments with changing processes and hands-on leadership to drive change.
