Retail Lead role at Sur La Table in Scottsdale, AZ, supporting the GM/SM as Manager on Duty to drive sales, operations, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty (MOD).
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement. Communicate performance issues to the General Manager/Store Manager.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates.
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
  • Maintain expertise on products through training and self-driven learning.
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and address customer concerns promptly.
  • Support achievement of store sales goals through effective customer engagement and team motivation.
  • Identify customer needs and offer relevant solutions to maximize selling opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and contribute to store revenue (KPIs: individual sales volume, average transaction value, conversion rates).
  • Direct employees to maintain appropriate merchandise stock levels and visual standards.
  • Complete inventory transactions (receiving, MOS, RARs).
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws and accurately record time worked.
  • Model and enforce SLT policies and SOPs with associates.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 1 year of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
  • Strong leadership, ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for community engagement and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems (preferred).

  • Hourly wage: $18 - $19.15 per hour
  • Flexible schedule (20-25 hours per week) including nights, weekends, and holidays
