About the role
AI Research Intern responsible for researching and prototyping foundation models (transformer-based and graph-based) applied to OnePay's customer, transaction, and merchant data to build a working prototype and impact customer experience and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and train foundation models on OnePay's data, working with transformer and/or graph-based architectures.
- Run experiments, evaluate results rigorously, and turn promising findings into a working prototype.
- Partner with Product, Engineering and Analytics teams to ensure we are providing a remarkable customer experience.
- Driving significant impact on the company’s bottom line.
Qualifications
- Final-Year Graduate Student: final year of a master’s or PhD program, expected to graduate Fall 2027 or Spring 2028, majoring in Engineering or related field.
- Deep Learning Fundamentals: strong grasp of neural networks basics, backpropagation, attention, embeddings, optimization, training dynamics; experience with PyTorch or equivalent;
- Prior Experience: at least one internship in research, ML, or software engineering, or substantial personal/academic projects.
- Availability: full-time, 8-week program June 21 – August 13, 2027; available to work in NYC office 3-4 days a week.
