About the role

Deployment Strategist acting as the product manager for field engagements, bridging customer business problems with Databricks’ technical solutions from discovery through production launch and adoption. Part of the founding FDE team focused on selling and delivering outcomes for high-value AI opportunities with executive-level collaboration and hands-on delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Minimum Viable Product for pilots and write PRDs guiding engineering from discovery to production launch.
  • Lead technical discovery, shape solution architecture with FDEs, and ensure proposed solutions move from prototype to production.
  • Own Day 0 launch, manage production readiness (data quality, testing, security, performance, operations), and drive adoption post-launch.
  • Perform deep discovery to map customer landscape, quantify business value, and define pilot scope, MVP, success criteria, and timeline.
  • Author the PRD, prioritize backlog, manage scope, and act as primary hands-on QA tester.
  • Drive agile delivery, unblock issues, and manage stakeholders from C-suite to engineers.
  • Develop ongoing maintenance plans and customer documentation/training, and identify next high-value engagements.

Qualifications

  • Typically 7+ years of experience delivering complex, customer-facing data, analytics, AI, or software engagements, or equivalent founder/technical builder experience.
  • Experience delivering data, machine learning, or generative AI systems into production and understanding integration, operational, and adoption challenges.
  • Proficient in at least one language such as Python, Java, or SQL; ability to explore data, work in notebooks, review code/pipelines, build/adapt prototypes, and troubleshoot.
